Paint It As You See It

Look beyond the red door and see what you can find. There are little, hidden surprises here: buried in time and memory but, like magic, can be rediscovered on my canvas. I paint to dig it all back up and remember. As I remember it, I paint it as I see it. The door wasn’t really red. The house wasn’t yellow. Somehow, changing the colors makes it just right. I paint it as I see it today. I am mindful of my memories, and I am aware of how they bring meaning to the present moment. This blog is an encouragement to paint it as you see it. It’s OK if what you create isn’t just like it was. The way things were and the way you see them today can mingle. Don’t be afraid if what you remember and what you share aren’t an exactly as it was. You are different than you once were, so how you see things today will look different. Be aware of how the past and present can mix to make new meaning. Create to give this new reality a voice.
