“Crows or No Crows” is a vibrant painting inspired by mindfulness and presence. With bold colors, playful patterns, and the quiet gaze of my dog—my muse—it invites viewers to pause, notice, and rest in the moment.

Comments closedI painted these candlesticks while my mind recalled bits and pieces of memories: memories that are getting foggier and foggier. There’s something healing about painting it. There is something incredibly soothing about the entire process. I am mindful of the reality that art is an incredible gift. Comments closedThis blog is a challenge to make some art and compare it with the creations of other artists. The challenge is not to compare to rank and judge. We can celebrate all the possibilities and recognize that our interpretation is valid, valuable, and important. We are so quick to judge ourselves and others. You and I can make something, be mindful, and let it be what it is. We can trust it and embrace it and do the same with what we see others create. This simple step has the power to help guide this fascinating planet to greater understanding, less rigidity, and a bit more shine.

Comments closedWe’re all tired of COVID and tired of waiting for our lives to get back to normal. We don’t know what’s next, and it can be excruciating. It’s disquieting not knowing what tomorrow will bring. Creative process can provide a healthy redirection for the feelings and challenges that come with the realities of our “Right Now.” Tomorrow will remain uncertain. Do your best to accept “Right Now” as it is. That doesn’t mean that you pretend that you don’t have angst about the future. Be mindful of how you feel. Notice your unease and don’t try to push it down. However, consider how creative process can help you in this time and place. This blog will help you get started.
Comments closedI’m feeling lost. I’ve got to make some good choices to settle myself down. I’m working on my mind right now: the tape that’s playing in my head. I’m telling it to slow down, and I’m telling it I’m going to be OK. There’s a lot going on, so my head is swimming with voices. Not audible ones. Just those quiet whispers that we tend to give too little attention. They are insidious. I must find a way to silence them.
